Neither of the first two problems were actually causing bugs (as far as I know), but they *might*
have caused problems in the future.
Inspired by https://github.com/angular/angular/pull/12910, but for non-static apps.
- `NgHost` to `CompilerHost`
- `AotCompilerHost.resolveFileToImport` to `AotCompilerHost.fileNameToModuleName`
- `AotCompilerHoset.resolveImportToFile` to `AotCompilerHost.moduleNameToFileName`
This is needed to resolve symbols without `.d.ts` files.
This bumps the version of the metadata from 1 to 2.
This adds logic into `ng_host.ts` to automatically upgrade
version 1 to version 2 metadata by adding the exported symbols
from the `.d.ts` file.
This improves ergonomics a bit by allowing people to write:
`<label [for]="ctxProp"></label>`.
This is similar to the existing class -> className mapping.

Add support for the `$postDigest()` and `$onDestroy()` lifecycle hooks.
Better align the behavior of the `$onChanges()` and `$onInit()` lifecycle hooks
with Angular 1.x:
- Call `$onInit()` before pre-linking.
- Always instantiate the controller before calling `$onChanges()`.
Previously, if a `TemplateRef` was created in a `ViewContainerRef`
at a different place, the content was not query able at all.
With this change, the content of the template can be queried
as if it was stamped out at the declaration place of the template.
E.g. in the following example, the `QueryList<ChildCmp>` will
be filled once the button is clicked.

Bash scripts create and tear down symlinks on Windows. These use the
packages.txt file as input to identify the symlink locations. The
scripts ignored the last line in packages.txt if it didn't end with a
newline. Also, one location was missing. Resolve both issues.

I put an extractor into your extract so you can extract while you
extract.
This allows integrators to call Extractor as a library. Also refactors
Extractor a bit so that callers need fewer arguments or arguments that
are at the right semantic level.
The refactoring causes no function change.
- for now only wraps the `@Input` properties and calls
to `ngOnInit`, `ngDoCheck` and `ngOnChanges` of directives.
- also groups eval sources by NgModule.

This commit introduces a new API to the ngUpgrade module, which is compatible
with AoT compilation. Primarily, it removes the dependency on reflection
over the Angular 2 metadata by introducing an API where this information
is explicitly defined, in the source code, in a way that is not lost through
AoT compilation.
This commit is a collaboration between @mhevery (who provided the original
design of the API); @gkalpak & @petebacondarwin (who implemented the
API and migrated the specs from the original ngUpgrade tests) and @alexeagle
(who provided input and review).
This commit is an starting point, there is still work to be done:

* align the ngUpgrade compilation of A1 directives closer to the real A1

`normalizeMethodName` reflectively accessed the RequestMethod enum. With a smart
optimizer, properties from the enum could be removed or renamed, and so user
code just passing in e.g. 'PATCH' might not work. This change fixes the code to
be more explicit and avoids the optimizer issue.

Modify routerLinkActive to optimise performance by removing unnecessary iteration. By replacing Array.reduce with Array.some, the loop will break when it finds an active link. Useful if used on the parent of a large group of routerLinks. Furthermore, if a RouterLink is active it will not check the RouterLinkWithHrefs.
The `addProvider` function in the `UpgradeAdapter` was deprecated in this [commit](d21331e902 (diff-77163e956a7842149f583846c1c01651)) and has been removed in final. Given this, the documentation for downgrading ng2 providers for use in ng1 is invalid.

When lazily loading code, users need to be able to get hold of the
NgModuleFactory. For SystemJS environments, the SystemJS registry serves
this purpose. However other environments, such as modules compiled with
Closure compiler, do not expose exports object or a path based registry.
For these environments, `@NgModule` objects can include an identifier, and
the loading code can then pass `loadModule(id).then(() =>
getNgModule(id))` to the router.
BREAKING CHANGE: web worker platform is now exported via separate packages.

All the components and pipes now must be declarated via an NgModule. NgModule is the basic
compilation block passed into the Angular compiler via Compiler#compileModuleSync or #compileModuleAsync.
Because of this change, the Compiler#compileComponentAsync and #compileComponentSync were removed as well -
any code doing compilation should compile module instead using the apis mentioned above.
Lastly, since modules are the basic compilation unit, the ngUpgrade module was modified to always require
an NgModule to be passed into the UpgradeAdapter's constructor - previously this was optional.
ngc can now validate metadata before emitting to verify it doesn't
contain an error symbol that will result in a runtime error if
it is used by the StaticReflector.
To enable this add the section,

to the top level of the tsconfig.json file passed to ngc.
Enabled metadata validation for packages that are intended to be
used statically.
Until we have comprehensive E2E tests, it's too risky to change the
reflector_host Misko wrote before final. But google3 uses path mapping
and needs all imports to be and all paths to be canonicalized to
the longest rootDir.
This change introduces a subclass of ReflectorHost with overrides for methods
that differ. After final (or when we have good tests), we'll refactor
them back into one class.
Often it is useful to test a component without rendering certain directives/components
in its template because these directives require some complicated setup.
You can do that by using NO_ERRORS_SCHEMA.

It is possible for code in `beforeEach` to capture and fork a zone
(for example creating `NgZone` in `beforeEach`). Subsequently the code
in `it` may chose to do `fakeAsync`. The issue is that because the
code in `it` can use `NgZone` from the `beforeEach`. it effectively can
escape the `fakeAsync` zone. A solution is to run all of the test in
`ProxyZone` which allows a test to dynamically replace the rules at any
time. This allows the `beforeEach` to fork a zone, and then `it` to
retroactively became `fakeAsync` zone.
When creating a new Headers object using an existing Headers object
the existing Headers map is copied by reference. Therefore adding a
new Header value to the new Headers object also added this value to
the existing Headers object which is not in accordance with the
spec.
This commit alters the constructor to create a deep copy of existing
Headers maps and therefore unlink existing Headers from new Headers.

`Type` is now `Type<T>` which means that in most cases you have to

Remove test setup functions which were deprecated in rc5. See the

`setBaseTestProviders`, use `TestBed.initTestEnvironment`.
We changed the bootstrap order:
1. create NgZone
2. bootstrap ng1 inside NgZone and upgrade ng1 components to ng2 components.

Note: Previous footgun behavior was: bootstrap ng2 first to extract NgZone, so that ng1 bootstrap can happen in NgZone. This meant that if ng2 bootstrap eagerly compiled a component which contained ng1 components, then we did not have complete metadata.

issue. Now all of the files are forced into a single directory
as specified in `tsconfig.json` by the `genDir` option.

Then it makes sense for `AbstractFormGroupDirective` to be
public/exported too. In any case, if it isn't exported then the **API
docs for `Form` don't get generated properly.**
BREAKING CHANGE:
- `ApplicationRef.run` is deprecated. Use `NgZone.run` directly
- `ApplicationRef.injector` is deprecated. Inject an `Injector` or
use `NgModuleRef.injector` instead

`ApplicationRef.bootstrap` is supposed to be run inside of `ngDoBootstrap` method
of the module that is bootstrapped, and that method already runs inside of the
zone.
This class allows any provider to know and wait for the initialization of the
application. This functionality previously was tied to `ApplicationRef`.

- `ApplicationRef.waitForAsyncInitializers` is deprecated. Use
`AppInitStatus.donePromise` / `AppInitStatus.done` instead.
If a `@NgModule` has a `bootstrap` property, `PlatformRef.bootstrapModule` /
`PlatformRef.bootstrapModuleFactory` will automatically bootstrap the components
listed in there.
If such a property does not exist, `PlatformRef.bootstrapModule` /
`PlatformRef.bootstrapModuleFactory` will try to call the method `ngDoBootstrap(appRef: ApplicationRef)` on the module class.
Otherwise an error is reported.
Using the `registerBootstrapListener` easily lead to race condition
and needed dependencies on `ApplicationRef`.
BREAKING CHANGE:
- `ApplicationRef.registerBootstrapListener` is deprecated. Provide a multi
provider for the new token `APP_BOOTSTRAP_LISTENER` instead.
Note about the addition of `beforeEach(fakeAsync(inject(…))))` in some tests:
`ApplicationRef` is now using `ngOnDestroy` and there is eager,
including all of its dependencies which contain `NgZone`.
The additional `fakeAsync` in `beforeEach` ensures that `NgZone`
uses the fake async zone as parent, and not the root zone.

- `ApplicationRef.dispose` is deprecated. Destroy the module that was
created during bootstrap instead by calling `NgModuleRef.destroy`.

This is needed for the case if a `beforeEach` instantiates
`NgZone`and the `it` uses
`TestComponentBuilder.createFakeAsync`.
Otherwise the `NgZone` will use the root zone as parent,
and `TestComponentBuilder.createFakeAsync` will always return
undefined as `tick` does not forward promises created
under the zone of `NgZone`.
This makes `bootstrapModuleFactory` wait for promises
returned by `APP_INITIALIZER`s, also making `bootstrapModuleFactory` async.
I.e. now `bootstrapModule` and `bootstrapModuleFactory` behave in the
same way.
This ensures that all code from module instantiation, to creating
`ApplicationRef`s as well as calling `APP_INITIALIZERS` is run
in the Angular zone.
This also moves the invocation of the initializers from the `ApplicationRef`
constructor into the `bootstrapModuleFactory` call, allowing initializers
to get a hold of `ApplicationRef` (see #9101).

The methods on `ViewResolverMock` have been merged into `DirectiveResolver`.
BREAKING CHANGE:
- ES5 users can no longer use the `View(…)` function to provide `ViewMetadata`.
This mirrors the removal of the `@View` decorator a while ago.
Prior to this fix [ngClass] would remove all dynamic classes
when destroyed. It's essential that classes are persisted such
that remove-based animations will still be stylistically correct.
This patch fixes this issue.

Previously, Angular would warn users when simply re-encoding text
outside of the ASCII range. While harmless, the log spam was annoying.
With this change, Angular specifically tracks whether anything was
stripped during sanitization, and only reports a warning if so.

Some test cases incorrectly rely on the side effect of other test cases
importing `NgMatchers`. This commit fixes this by making `expect` in
`core/testing_internal` properly typed.
Resource URLs are strictly "more" trustworthy than plain URLs, so trusting them maintains the same level of security while avoiding to break people when we downgrade a resource URL context to a plain URL context.
BREAKING CHANGE
Previously both imperative (router.navigate) and declarative (routerLink) navigations
would preserve the current query params and fragment. This behavior turned out to

This removes the magic from the `inject` test helper that would inspect
the current zone and would only work with our `async` test helper.
Now, `inject` is always synchronous, and if you are using a module

to each test having an AppModule.

BREAKING CHANGE:
We have removed the deprecated form directives from the built-in platform directive list, so apps are not required to package forms with their app. This also makes forms friendly to offline compilation.
Instead, we have exposed three modules:

- `ReactiveFormsModule`
If you provide one of these modules, the default forms directives and providers from that module will be available to you app-wide. Note: You can provide both the `FormsModule` and the `ReactiveFormsModule` together if you like, but they are fully-functional separately.

To provide custom providers for the compiler,
create a custom compiler via `browserCompiler({providers: [...]})`

This implements a new class, QueryEncoder, that provides
methods for encoding keys and values of query parameter.
The encoder encodes with encodeURIComponent, and then
decodes a whitelist of allowed characters back to their
unencoded form.

The changes to Http's URLSearchParams serialization now
prevent encoding of these characters inside query parameters
which were previously converted to percent-encoded values:

`compileComponentAsync` and `compileComponentSync`.

`compileComponentSync` is able to compile components
synchronously given all components either have an inline

take a `Type` and use the new `compileComponentSync` method.

Instead, the async function now determines whether it should return a promise
or instead call a done function parameter. Importing Jasmine functions
from `@angular/core/testing` is no longer necessary and is now deprecated.
Additionally, beforeEachProviders is also deprecated, as it is specific
to the testing framework. Instead, use the new addProviders method directly.

TestComponentBuilder now lives in core/testing. compiler/testing contains a private
OverridingTestComponentBuilder implementation which handles the private behavior
we need to override templates. This is part of the effort to simplify the testing
imports and hide compiler APIs.

attributes/properties. This change adds a smoke test to verify that
behaviour, by testing that `xlink:href` (a sample dangerous property)
is not bindable.

Update compiler-cli dependencies to include minimist and also increment tsc-wrapped to 0.2.0. There is signature mismatch between tsc-wrapped (v0.1.0) collector.js#getMetadata and compiler-cli reflector_host.js#getMetadataFor that caused an error anytime ngc was executed. The error received was as follows.

Fix how the compiler checks for recursive components by also considering
component descendants. Previously, it only checked if the current
component was evaluated previously. This failed in certain cases of
mutually recursive components, causing `createAsync` in tests to not
resolve.

If a user ends up with a safe value in an interpolation context, that's probably
a bug. Returning `"SafeValue must use [property]= binding"` will make it easier
to detect and correct the situation. Detecting the situation and throwing an
error for it could cause performance issues, so we're not doing this at this
point (but might revisit later).
Part of #8511 and #9253.
This lets users continue using runtime-sideeffect Decorators if they choose,
only down-leveling the marked ones to Annotations.
Also remove the "skipTemplateCodegen" option, which is no longer needed
since Angular compiles with tsc-wrapped rather than ngc. The former doesn't

Previously these symbols were exposed via platform-browser-dynamic, then we merged then into platform-browser
thinking that tools would know how to shake off the compiler and other dynamic bits not used with the offline
compilation flow. This turned out to be wrong as both webpack and rollup don't have good enough tree-shaking
capabilities to do this today. We think that in the future we'll be able to merge these two entry points into
one, but we need to give tooling some time before we can do it. In the meantime the reintroduction of the -dynamic
package point allows us to separate the compiler dependencies from the rest of the framework.
This change undoes the previous breaking change that removed the platform-browser-dynamic package.
The collector now collects the body of functions that return an
expression as a symbolic 'function'. The static reflector supports
expanding these functions statically to allow provider macros.
Also added support for the array spread operator in both the
collector and the static reflector.
This aligns the configuration of platform pipes / directives with offline compilation.

The web animations API now requires that all styles are converted to

Fix a bug due to which setting a custom Content-Type header in the
Request led to multiple Content-Types being set on the sent
XMLHttpRequest: first the detected content type based on the request
body, followed by the custom set content type.

Refactored ReflectorHost to allow it to be tested.
Fixed an issue where the .d.ts was findable but it wasn't used by the project
(This happens when the .metadata.json file references a module that was not
needed, such as it doesn't declare any types, and the reference to it was

The metadata collector now records the line and character of the node that
caused it to report the error.

There is no need to expose this additional method inside of the Renderer
API. The functionality can be restored by looping and calling
`setElementStyle` instead.
Note that this change is changing code that was was introduced after

The metadata collector was modified to look up references in the
import list instead of resolving the symbol using the TypeChecker
making the use of the TypeChecker vestigial. This change removes
all uses of the TypeChecker.
Modified the schema to be able to record global and local (non-module
specific references).
Added error messages to the schema and errors are recorded in
the metadata file allowing the static reflector to throw errors
if an unsupported construct is referenced by metadata.

Automatically recognize XSRF protection cookies, and set a corresponding XSRF
header. Allows applications to configure the cookie names, or if needed,
completely override the XSRF request configuration by binding their own
XSRFHandler implementation.

This addresses several oversights in assigning security contexts to DOM schema
elements found by our security reviewers (thanks!).

This allows angular's build to depend on some extensions, but not on code generation, and breaks a cycle in the angular build
We now merge ts-metadata-collector into tsc-wrapped and stop publishing the former.
This symbol is no longer reexported at the top level, so it's safe to not mark it as internal.
This fixes the offline compilation which got broken by this symbol not being present in the d.ts
files when the compiler tries to do a deep import.

the tslint rules have not been executed on the right files when this the lint was reenabled
after package splitup making the linting useless. When reenabled lots of errors show up.

Currently downgraded ng2 elements fail inside a ui-router view because they are unable
to require an ng2 Injector via the require attribute of the DDO, because ui-router compiles
its templates before they are inserted in a ui-view. This adds a "fallback" behavior if
a parent injector cannot be found to go to the root ng2 Injector.
Delays NG1 Directive controller instatiation where possible and pre-link function always
to the ngOnInit() lifecycle hook. This way bindings are always available on $scope in both
the controller and the link function.
Allows sanitized URLs for CSS properties. These can be abused for information
leakage, but only if the CSS rules are already set up to allow for it. That is,
an attacker cannot cause information leakage without controlling the style rules
present, or a very particular setup.
Fixes#8514.
Sanitizing style and URL values breaks specific patterns, see #8491 for
an example. This documents and acknowledges the breaking change while we
work on improving CSS sanitization to allow more values through.
This is based on Angular 1's implementation, parsing an HTML document
into an inert DOM Document implementation, and then serializing only
specifically whitelisted elements.
It currently does not support SVG sanitization, all SVG elements are
rejected.
If available, the sanitizer uses the `<template>` HTML element as an
inert container.

When a view is destroyed, we destroy all
views in view containers and should not detach them. However, previously, we also detached them which lead to problems during the iteration loop.

the bundles have source mpas disabled for now because when we downlevel
the esm bundle to es5 tsc doesn't consider the original source map so
we end up with a source map pointing to the esm bundle instead which is
not useful.
Summary:
This adds basic security hooks to Angular 2.
* `SecurityContext` is a private API between core, compiler, and
platform-browser. `SecurityContext` communicates what context a value is used
in across template parser, compiler, and sanitization at runtime.
* `SanitizationService` is the bare bones interface to sanitize values for a
particular context.
* `SchemaElementRegistry.securityContext(tagName, attributeOrPropertyName)`
determines the security context for an attribute or property (it turns out
attributes and properties match for the purposes of sanitization).
Based on these hooks:
* `DomSchemaElementRegistry` decides what sanitization applies in a particular
context.
* `DomSanitizationService` implements `SanitizationService` and adds *Safe
Value*s, i.e. the ability to mark a value as safe and not requiring further
sanitization.
* `url_sanitizer` and `style_sanitizer` sanitize URLs and Styles, respectively
(surprise!).
`DomSanitizationService` is the default implementation bound for browser
applications, in the three contexts (browser rendering, web worker rendering,
server side rendering).

Also add a configuration switch to disable the codegen, so we can
still use the metadata emit and tsickle pre-processing in the
build pipeline for angular itself.
Before, we would create all fields in the generated views
with visibility `private`. This does not work if an embedded
view references a directive / element in a parent view.
In Dart, this was no problem so far as it does not have
a `private` modifier.
Before, `useValue` in a provider did not work when doing
offline compile, as so far the `MetadataResolver` was only
used for jit mode. Now, `useValue` supports any kind of value
that the static reflector can return. E.g. primitives,
arrays, string maps, …

Most of the bugs discovered so far in the offline compiler were related to the StaticReflector. As it was part of angular2 core, it was hard to update. Moving it into the compiler_cli allows to release more often until the compiler_cli gets more stable.
Note: Moving the unit test next to the sources is the simplest option for now in terms of build setup.

This change adds providers for fake router dependecies.
This allows TestComponentBuilder to create components with RouterLink and RouterOutlet directives
without the test writer needing to override them.

The previous code that had `try/catch` statements in methods could not be optimized by Chrome.
This change separates `AppView` (no `try/catch`) form `DebugAppView` (always `try/catch`). Our codegen will use `AppView` in production mode and `DebugAppView` in debug mode.

This tool lets us re-write TypeScript sources before entering the emit pipeline.
For example, we lower Decorators to the tree-shakable Annotation form.
These worked in Dart because they were effectively exported even without the export keyword.
Without exporting these symbols, they are not produced in .metadata.json files, which leaves
dangling references from the Decorators that use them.
Instantiating the test component within an NgZone will let us track async tasks in event handlers and change detection.
We can also do auto change detection when triggering events through dispatchEvent and not have to do fixture.detectChange() manually in the test.
New API:
ComponentFixture.autoDetectChanges() - This puts the fixture in auto detect mode that automatically calls detectChanges when the microtask queue is empty (Similar to how change detection is triggered in an actual application).
ComponentFixture.isStable() - This returns a boolean whether the fixture is currently stable or has some async tasks that need to be completed.
ComponentFixture.whenStable() - This returns a promise that is resolved when the fixture is stable after all async tasks are complete.

The filename contains the module name as resolved by users, so the top-level module name is uneeded.
Module names on references are replaced by capturing the import syntax from the module.
This allows readers of the metadata to do the module resolution themselves.

Remove FunctionWithParamTokens.
All test wrappers async, fakeAsync and inject now return just a Function instead of FunctionWithParamTokens. This makes them directly consumable by the test framework. Also the test framework code does not have to handle a union of Function and FunctionWithParamTokens everywhere.
The Function returned by the above methods are considered asynchronous by the test framework if they return a Promise, synchronous otherwise.

Introduces `ref-` to give a name to an element or a directive (also works for `<template>` elements), and `let-` to introduce an input variable for a `<template>` element.

Pure pipes as well as arrays and maps are
implemented via proxy functions. This is
faster than the previous implementation
and also generates less code.

Update the version of zone.js to @0.6.12 that contains the new FakeAsyncTestZoneSpec.
The new fakeAsync zone handles errors better and clearPendingTimers() is no longer required to be called after handling an error and is deprecated.
The fakeAsync test zone will now throw an error if an XHR is attemtped within the test since that cannot be controlled synchronously in the test(Need to be mocked out with a service implementation that doesn't involve XHRs).
This commit also allows fakeAsync to wrap inject to make it consistent with async test zone.

inject can no longer wrap fakeAsync while fakeAsync can wrap inject. So the order in existing tests with inject and fakeAsync has to be switched as follows:

This adds the feature for `@ViewChild`/`@ViewChildren`/`@ContentChild`/`@ContentChildren` to define what to read from the queried element.
E.g. `@ViewChild(`someVar`, read: ViewContainerRef)` will locate the element with a variable `someVar` on it and return a `ViewContainerRef` for it.
Background: With this change, Angular knows exactly at which elements there will be `ViewConainerRef`s as the user has to ask explicitly of them. This simplifies codegen and will make converting Angular templates into server side templates simpler as well.

In Dart, ImmutableLists are just a projection of an underlying list.
I.e. if the underlying list changes, the ImmutableList also changes.
So we can't make optimizations based on checking whether a collection

Until Angular 1.5.1 is released, the `$routeConfig` and `$routerCanActivate`
annotations for components must live on the controller constructor.
In Angular 1.5.1, it will automatically copy these annotations across from
the component definition file.

These tests were registering new components after the application had
been bootstrapped, which is not a valid use case for synchronous routes
in Angular 1.
In particular it was registering the "root" component, which caused the
`$rootRouter` to blow up, when it was instantiated, pointing to a root
component that did not yet exist.
The directiveIntrospector was a bit of a hack to allow the router to
read the `$routeConfig` annocation and `$routerCanActivate` hook from
directives when they were registered.
It turns out that if we put these properties on the component controller's
constructor function (i.e. as static class methods) then we can simply
use the `$injector` to access it as required.
Currently, people put the properties directly on their component definition
objects. In Angular 1.5.1, we will copy these properties onto the controller
constructor to maintain a simple migration path. But going forward it may be
better to encourage people to add the properties directly to the controller
constructor.

Create transformers that allow specifying transformer actions on
specific libraries.
* angular2/transform/codegen: Generates all necessary code.
* angular2/transform/reflection_rewriter: Replaces `bootstrap` calls in
application entry points to remove transitive dart:mirrors import,
resulting in smaller code size & faster execution.
* angular2/transform/deferred_rewriter: Rewrites deferred imports and
`loadLibrary` calls to initialize Angular2 and preserve deferred
operation.
Proper configuration of these three transformers can replace the single
angular2 transformer, resulting in significant performance gains for
builds of large angular2 apps.
Update angular2 itself to declare the codegen transformer, since it has
neither deferred imports nor application entry points.
Remove the undocumented & unused quick_transformer.
Instead of running with karma and the karma-dart shim, run dart
tests directly using the new package:test runner. This migrates
away from package:unittest.
Fixes a couple tests, mostly associated with depending on absolute
URLs or editing the test providers after an injector had already
been created.
Remove karma-dart and associated files. Change gupfiles to run tests
via `pub run test` instead.

The hello_world app used to measure Dart payload size was broken by a

7ae23adaff.
This breakage does not materially affect the size of the generated code,
(before fix: 298819, after fix: 298825), and since it was a runtime
error it was not noticed & not a problem.
Update the app to work again.

The singleton service that represents the top level router was called
`$router` but this is confusing since there are actually lots of routers,
which depend upon where you are in the DOM. This is similar to the situation
with scopes.
This commit clarifies this singleton by renaming it to `$rootRouter`.

Url path of star segments should equal the original path.
If you register the route `/app/*location` and invoke a url like `/app/foo/bar`
the PathRecognizer should return a url path equal to the invoked url.
Before this patch, everything after `foo` was ignored, which resulted in a
redirect to `/app/foo` which was probably not intended (at least in the angular
1.5 component router).

In angular2 `Location.path()` returns the complete path including query string. In angular1 the query parameters are missing. Similar to this `Location.go` does accept two parameters (path *and query*).

In Angular 1.5 there is a new helper method for creating component directives.

These kind of directives only match the `E` element form and the previously component
router only created HTML that matched directives that matched the `A` attribute form.
This commit changes the `<ng-outlet>` directive so that it generates custom HTML
elements rather divs with custom attributes to trigger the relevant component to
appear in the DOM.
Going forward, Angular 1.5 users are encouraged to create their router components
using the following style:

The upstream Jasmine typings don't define a type for the global
object with Jasmine methods polluting it, so just use any.

seriliazeParams is coercing a value of 1 to true, which causes the value to be completey dropped.

Previously, we generated the code to initialize the reflector into the
<file>.ng_deps.dart and the compiled template and change detector code
into <file>.template.dart.
Update the transformer to generate all code into <file>.template.dart to
avoid the additional HTTP requests necessary when debugging
applications in Dartium.
Now, using `ng.probe(element)` in the browser console returns
a DebugElement when in dev mode.
`ComponentFixture#debugElement` also returns a new DebugElement.
Breaking Change:
This is a breaking change for unit tests. The API for the DebugElement
has changed. Now, there is a DebugElement or DebugNode for every node
in the DOM, not only nodes with an ElementRef. `componentViewChildren` is
removed, and `childNodes` is a list of ElementNodes corresponding to every
child in the DOM. `query` no longer takes a scope parameter, since
the entire rendered DOM is included in the `childNodes`.

The checkNoChanges function compares only primitives types for equality, and deeply compares iterables. Other objects cannot cause checkNoChanges to throw. This means that the dev mode would never fail given a legal program, but may allow some illegal programs.
Also enable DDC checks across all non-web worker playground apps. We are
now down to 2 DDC errors across all of them. The remaining two need to be
fixed in package:analyzer, not in angular.

This is needed to prevent memory leaks. The DOM
listeners don’t need to be removed for simple examples,
but a big internal app shows memory leaks because of them.

removes the event listener.
Previously, template codegen was done asynchronously, which could result
in reflector state being overwritten and leading to compile errors.
Update the codegen to run synchronously to ensure this does not happen.

Remove String type check in looseIdentical in JS-mode. It is not necessary as dart2js already compiles `identical` to `===` which compares string contents. Inline call sites.

1. does not analyze unnecessary code (we primarily care about stuff that runs in the browser)

With providers split into bundles, the test injector is now able to
use providers for a given bundle. Suggested provider lists for tests are
available in `angular2/platform/testing/<platform>`.
Change the providers for a test suite using `setBaseTestProviders`. This
should be done once at the start of the test suite, before any test cases
run.
BREAKING CHANGE: Tests are now required to use `setBaseTestProviders`
to set up. Assuming your tests are run on a browser, setup would change

imported libraries when we can determine that the file we are processing
does not define any `View`s.

Previously when comparing which of multiple possible routes to choose in
an ambiguous case, we looked at the specificity of the target of redirect
matches rather than the original match. This meant that if a redirect
used a whilecard, but redirected to a target that was a static path,
we'd cound the static path's specificity instead of the wildcard.
This change stores the specificity of the redirect on the RedirectInstruction.

Our code size SLA is 100kb gzipped and 300kb minified. Our target is 10kb gzipped.
We are currently under 90kb gzipped. Let's keep it that way while looking for ways to improve the situation further. We're not <300kb minified yet, so we should be stricter here too.

In the browser, calling element.textContent causes child comment
nodes to be ignored, while getting textContent directly on a

The typings property is being removed because angular2.ts is deprecated, and the developers should import from angular2/core and angular2/platform/*. So aliasing angular2 to angular2/angular2 does not make sense.

Quoted expressions are parsed into a new AST node type Quote. The `prefix` part of the
node must be a legal identifier. The `uninterpretedExpression` part of the node is an
arbitrary string that Angular does not interpret.
This feature is meant to be used together with template AST transformers introduced in
a43ed79ee7. The
transformer would interpret the quoted expression and convert it into a standard AST no
longer containing quoted expressions. Angular will continue compiling the resulting AST
normally.

This make apps to load quicker with pub serve (only builds what is
needed).
Note that lazy transformers seem to make pub build slower, so we wrap

Often some init logic needs to run when a platform or an application is boostrapped.
For example, boostraping a platform requires initializing the dom adapter.
Now, it can be done as follows:

Currently, core depends on DomRenderer, which depends on the browser.
This means that if you depend on angular2/core, you will always
pull in the browser dom adapter and the browser render, regardless
if you need them or not.
This PR moves the browser dom adapter and the browser renderer out of core.

If you import browser adapter or dom renderer directly (not via angular2/core),
you will have to change the import path.
Since editors and IDEs do typechecking and show errors in place,
often there is no benefit to running type checking in our test pipeline.

Previously, the controlsErrors getter of ControlGroup and ControlArray returned the errors of their direct children. This was confusing because the result did not include the errors of nested children (ControlGroup -> ControlGroup -> Control). Making controlsErrors to include such errors would require inventing some custom serialization format, which applications would have to understand.
Since controlsErrors was just a convenience method, and it was causing confusing, we are removing it. If you want to get the errors of the whole form serialized into a single object, you can manually traverse the form and accumulate the errors. This way you have more control over how the errors are serialized.

In the previous commit I removed unused dependencies from package.json, but in order for the change to take
effect I needed to update npm shrinkwrap as well. That got complicated because of how npm dedupes packages.
Long story short, to clean up the mess I did the following:
- deleted npm-shrinkwrap.json and npm-shrinkwrap.clean.json
- ran: npm install
- ran: npm shrinkwrap --dev && ./tools/npm/clean-npm-shrinkwrap
This means that our npm-shrinkwrap now correctly reflects the constraints in package.json, but it also
means that some packages got updated (within the version constrain specified in package.json).
Some dependencies were intentionally not updated. e.g. mudge due to #5022
otherwise in dist/js/dev/es5/benchmarks/src/naive_infinite_scroll/index.html
defaultExtension: 'js' is ignored for angular2/src/testing/benchmark_util which
results in test failures.
We'll need to investigate this. Maybe upgrading to 0.19.x will make this issue go
away...
Store dependency import information in a dedicated list in `NgDepsModel`
rather than as a boolean field on `ImportModel`. An `ImportModel` should
not "care" whether it is a .ng_deps.dart import or not -- this
information belongs in `NgDepsModel`.
This simplifies some of the logic around how `NgDepsModel` imports are
processed and eventually output.
Third party controls require a ControlValueAccessor to function with Angular Forms. Many of them, like Polymer's <paper-input>, behave like the <input> native element and thus can use the DefaultValueAccessor. Adding an ng-default-control attribute will now allow them to use that directive.

The template compiler update removed the option to run the transformer
without generating change detectors and deprecated the
`generate_change_detectors` transformer parameter.
Now that it has been deprecated for several weeks, remove it from the
transformer code.

and add a deprecation warning to `reflectPropertiesAsAttributes`.

Ambient directives can be configured when bootstraping an application.
Ambient directives can be used in every component of the application without
needing to explicitly list them.
Previously, routes would be generated with a leading slash after the parens:
example.com/foo(/bar)
This fix removes the trailing slash when generating the URL, so now we have:
example.com/foo(bar)
This change is not breaking because we still recognize both forms. We just normalize
without the slash.
Previously if the URL changed in `HashLocation` mode, the router would not pick up the change.
This adds a listener in `HashLocationStrategy` for `hashchange` events to fix the problem.

For exported, generated templates, declare with `final` so `dart2js`
knows they will never be reassigned.
For non-exported, generated change detector classes, prefix the
classname with `_` to mark them as internal.

Since the very first npm install is called while node_modules is empty, we need to ignore it, but we can track
the start timestamp and record the install even once the installation is completed.
The leading number with a dot and space in the Markdown will be compiled to `ol > li`.

Currently, the only way for a directive to export a validator is by providing a function. This makes it ackward to write validators that depend on directive inputs. In addition to supporting functions as validators, classes implementing the Validator interface are supported too.
The current code doesn't function properly:
- assert are never activated
- even if activated would result in infinite loop
Since the code is broken and blocks other use-cases
this commit turns assert into noop. A proper solution

Match [ViewResolver][]'s semantics for reading template and style values
from `@Component` and `@View` annotations.
We now warn if template and/or style values appear on an `@Component`

Previously, importing a library twice using different prefixes could
cause the template compiler step to incorrect omit `Directive`
dependencies provided by that library.
Previously, we parsed dependencies out of a the stringified value of
`directives`, which is brittle and error-prone.
Move this parsing into `DirectiveProcessor` where we have the full Dart
ast to help.
Previously, `DeferredRewriter` checked for the existence of
`.ng_deps.dart` files to determine which deferred libraries it needed to
rewrite, requiring that those assets exist at the time it was run.
Update to check for `.ng_meta.json` files instead, which exist after the
`DirectiveProcessor` phase. This allows the `DeferredRewriter` (which
only processes *.dart files) to run in
parallel with `TemplateComplier` (which only processes *.ng_meta.json
files) and `StylesheetCompiler` (which only processes *.css files).
Have DeferredRewriter to check existence of .ng_meta.json assets rather than .ng_deps.dart assets
Update `DirectiveProcessor` and `TemplateCompiler` to generate the

If PUB_CACHE is not set the pub dependencies are downloaded to a default
folder during the build because `gulp build` also runs `pub get`.
Running the tests locally PUB_CACHE is set to a subdirectory of the SDK
when the `env_dart.sh` script is sourced.
Therefore `build/pubbuild.dart` fails as it can't find the dependencies.

This was used for , but now that our typings are laid out in the node_module, users should no longer need that.
Also fix the project name in root package.json. There is a risk that someone runs npm publish in this directory, which will create a new version of angular 1, and contain a scary source tree.
So this package.json may as well have a name that doesn't exist on npm, and if we did publish by accident, it would be a package name that matches the contents.
The test injector now uses an XHR implementation based on DOM.getXHR,
which allows the current DOM adapter to dictate which XHR impl should
be used.
To prevent the changes to DOM adapter from introducing undesired new
dependencies into the benchmarks, separate the async facade into
a promise facade which is reexported by facade/async.

We can’t resolve relative urls (e.g. for images) in the compiler as
these urls are meant to be loaded in the browser
(unless we would inline images as base64…).
Also, keep `<link rel=“stylesheet”>` in templates that
reference absolute urls with e.g. `http://`. This
behavior was already present for `@import` rules
within stylesheets.

Now that we can specify `directives` in either `@View` or `@Component`,
we will try to parse from both.
Previously, we would trash any `directives` parsed in the first
annotation upon encountering the second annotation. This ensures that we
maintain that list of `directives` regardless of annotation ordering.
Handle the situation where a `.dart` file generates a `.ng_meta.json`
file but does not register any reflective information.
An example of this would be a file that defines a const list that looks
like a directive alias. The transformer keeps track of this, and creates
a `.ng_meta.json` file but never creates a `.ng_deps.dart` file, which
can result in other files being linked to it and it not defining an
`initReflector` method.
This splits out `path` and `query` into separate params for `location.go`
and related methods so that we can handle them properly in both `PathLocationStrategy`
and `HashLocationStrategy`.
This handles the problem of not reading query params to populate `Location` on the
initial page load.

Adds test adapters for TypeScript and JavaScript only, exported
as part of the test_lib module. These work with the Jasmine test
framework, and allow use of the test injector within test blocks
via the `inject` function.

This includes the TestComponentBuilder. It allows using the
test injector with Jasmine bindings, and waits for returned
promises before completing async test blocks.
This is useful for the compiler tests, but otherwise it's not useful.
Additionally if an application has external templates (as is common) then
we should actually fetch these templates in tests.

This is pretty experimental, but the goal is to track the performance
of our build over time so that we can more easily track perf regressions.
Currently it's integrated only with gulp tasks, but I'd like to expand it
to tracking travis jobs, protractor/benchpress test runs, npm installs, etc.
No PII is being collected. And the data is collected via a Google Analytics
property owned by the Angular team account.

`DeferredRewriter` depends on the presence of `.ng_deps.dart` files,
which do not yet exist in the phase where it was previously run.
Update the transformer phases to fix this and add an integration test to
prevent regression.
Link `NgDeps` & `NgMeta` data in the same phase to avoid unnecessary asset
creation & reading.
Remove `NgMeta#exports` and instead use `NgDeps#exports` to link `NgMeta` files
in `ng_meta_linker.dart`.
The `ms` & `moz` prefixes are not needed. `ms` was never available in a public
IE release (IE 10 has an unprefixed version) and Firefox has unprefixed
rAF since v24 - current version is 41. Even more, Firefox versions below 22
don't have cancelAnimationFrame so it's better to not use the prefixed version
at all to avoid surprises.
The `o` prefix is also useless - Opera Presto never had rAF and the
Chromium-based Opera doesn't use the `o` prefix.
Also, switched from `new Date().getTime()` to `Date.now()` as it's supported
everywhere (even in Android 2.3) except IE<9 and it avoids a useless date
object construction.

Ensure that the transformers are properly declaring all consumed
outputs. In particular, when a transformer overwrites an output, make
sure the transformer calls `consumePrimary` followed by `addOutput` for

do this, barback incorrectly calculates the available assets for that

To simplify processing and testing in the future, use protobufs to
represent of `.ng_deps.dart` files rather than always dealing
directly in Dart code.
This update does not actually use the protobuf representation, but this
is a step towards moving all phases to parse and use protobufs rather than
Dart code.
This change adds a syntax for bootstrapping Angular on a page that allows more fine-grained control of the hierarchy created. platform() creates a platform injector (of which there can only be one). From the platform, .application() creates an Angular application including a Zone and all specified application bindings (e.g. for the DOM, HTTP, Compiler, Renderer, etc). At the application level, .bootstrap() will bootstrap the given component into that application.

With the coming bootstrapping changes, a single application (and thus Router) can have multiple root components. One of these needs to be identified as the "primary" component from which the Router will load its configuration. This is now done by providing a ROUTER_PRIMARY_COMPONENT binding to the primary component type.
Previosly, recognition ended when a parent captured all the parsed URL segments.
This caused routes that delegated from a parent to a child with an empty segment
to never be recognized.

Http sfx bundle was not regenerated when bundles.js task was called.
The new bundles are a bit bigger (angular2.min.js 519604 -> 590056 bytes).
Part of it is because TS inlines class shims vs defering to

Instead of working with finer grained element injectors, queries now
iterate through the views as static units of modification of the
application structure. Views already contain element injectors in the
correct depth-first preorder.
This allows us to remove children linked lists on element injectors and a
lot of book keeping that is already present at the view level.
Queries are recalculated using the afterContentChecked and
afterViewChecked hooks, only during init and after a view container has
changed.
BREAKING CHANGE:
ViewQuery no longer supports the descendants flag. It queries the whole
component view by default.

Previously the type remap was not being applied to comments and free floating functions.
The nunjucks template was becoming unreadable so rather than making a tweak there I
rewrote it into imperative code that is much easier to follow.
The output was diffed against the old output. The diff contained only the expected changes.

Previously a content binding of a component was visible to the directives in its view with the host constraint. This is not the case any more. To access that binding, remove the constraint.
When running in Dartium without using transformers (i.e. with a normal

Ensure that values passed to `DomRenderer#setElementAttribute` are
strings. Currently, booleans can be passed to this method, resulting in
failures when running in Dart checked mode.
The ENUM_INDEX utility was added to return the index of an enum
consistently between Dart and TypeScript, so that the index
could be used to look up the name of the enum. Since dart is no
longer supported by Http, and since no other part of the framework
is using this function, it has been removed.

## Running Tests Locally
### Full test suite
To run tests:
*`npm test`: full test suite for both JS and Dart versions of Angular. These are the same tests
that run on Travis.

### Unit tests
You can run just the unit tests as follows:

* `$(npm bin)/gulp test.unit.cjs`: JS tests in NodeJS; runs in **watch mode**.
* `$(npm bin)/gulp test.unit.dart`: Dart tests in Dartium; runs in **watch mode**.
If you prefer running tests in "single-run" mode rather than watch mode use:

The task updates the dist folder with transpiled code whenever a source or test file changes, and
Karma is run against the new output.
**Note**: If you want to only run a single test you can alter the test you wish to run by changing
`it` to `iit` or `describe` to `ddescribe`. This will only run that individual test and make it
much easier to debug. `xit` and `xdescribe` can also be useful to exclude a test and a group of
tests respectively.
**Note**: **watch mode** needs symlinks to work, so if you're using windows, ensure you have the
rights to built them in your operating system.
### E2E tests
1.`$(npm bin)/gulp build.js.cjs` (builds benchpress and tests into `dist/js/cjs` folder).
2.`$(npm bin)/gulp serve.js.prod serve.dart` (runs a local webserver).

One intentional omission from this list is `@angular/compiler`, which is currently considered a low level api and is subject to internal changes. Only very specific use-cases require direct access to the compiler API (mostly tooling integration for IDEs, linters, etc). Within the supported packages, we provide guarantees for:
- symbols exported via the main entry point (e.g. `@angular/core`) and testing entry point (e.g. `@angular/core/testing`). This applies to both runtime/JavaScript values and TypeScript types.

We explicitly don't consider the following to be our public API surface:

Our peer dependencies (e.g. typescript, zone.js, or rxjs) are not considered part of our API surface, but they are included in our SemVer policies. We might update the required version of any of these dependencies in minor releases if the update doesn't cause breaking changes for Angular applications. Peer dependency updates that result in non-trivial breaking changes must be deferred to major Angular releases.

# Why?
There are so called "micro benchmarks" that essentially use a stop watch in the browser to measure time
(e.g. via `performance.now()`). This approach is limited to time, and in some cases memory
(Chrome with special flags), as metric. It does not allow to measure:
- rendering time: e.g. the time the browser spends to layout or paint elements. This can e.g. used to
test the performance impact of stylesheet changes.
- garbage collection: e.g. how long the browser paused script execution, and how much memory was collected.
This can be used to stabilize script execution time, as garbage collection times are usually very
unpredictable. This data can also be used to measure and improve memory usage of applications,
as the garbage collection amount directly affects garbage collection time.
- distinguish script execution time from waiting: e.g. to measure the client side only time that is spent
in a complex user interaction, ignoring backend calls.
- measure fps to assert the smoothness of scrolling and animations.
This kind of data is already available in the DevTools of modern browsers. However, there is no standard way to
use those tools in an automated way to measure web app performance, especially not across platforms.
Benchpress tries to fill this gap, i.e. allow to access all kinds of performance metrics in an automated way.
# How it works
Benchpress uses webdriver to read out the so called "performance log" of browsers. This contains all kinds of interesting
data, e.g. when a script started/ended executing, gc started/ended, the browser painted something to the screen, ...
As browsers are different, benchpress has plugins to normalizes these events.
# Features
* Provides a loop (so called "Sampler") that executes the benchmark multiple times
* Automatically waits/detects until the browser is "warm"
* Reporters provide a normalized way to store results:
- console reporter
- file reporter
- Google Big Query reporter (coming soon)
* Supports micro benchmarks as well via `console.time()` / `console.timeEnd()`
-`console.time()` / `console.timeEnd()` mark the timeline in the DevTools, so it makes sense
to use them in micro benchmark to visualize and understand them, with or without benchpress.
- running micro benchmarks in benchpress leverages the already existing reporters,
the sampler and the auto warmup feature of benchpress.

# How to write a benchmark
A benchmark in benchpress is made by an application under test
and a benchmark driver. The application under test is the
actual application consisting of html/css/js that should be tests.
A benchmark driver is a webdriver test that interacts with the
application under test.
## A simple benchmark
Let's assume we want to measure the script execution time, as well as the render time
that it takes to fill a container element with a complex html string.
Using this strategy, benchpress will wait until the specified property name,
`timeToBootstrap` in this case, is defined as a number on the `window` object
inside the application under test.
# Smoothness Metrics
Benchpress can also measure the "smoothness" of scrolling and animations. In order to do that, the following set of metrics can be collected by benchpress:
- `frameTime.mean`: mean frame time in ms (target: 16.6ms for 60fps)
- `frameTime.worst`: worst frame time in ms
- `frameTime.best`: best frame time in ms
- `frameTime.smooth`: percentage of frames that hit 60fps
To collect these metrics, you need to execute `console.time('frameCapture')` and `console.timeEnd('frameCapture')` either in your benchmark application or in you benchmark driver via webdriver. The metrics mentioned above will only be collected between those two calls and it is recommended to wrap the time/timeEnd calls as closely as possible around the action you want to evaluate to get accurate measurements.
In addition to that, one extra provider needs to be passed to benchpress in tests that want to collect these metrics:
Benchpress can also record the number of requests sent and count the received "encoded" bytes since [window.performance.timing.navigationStart](http://www.w3.org/TR/navigation-timing/#dom-performancetiming-navigationstart):
- `receivedData`: number of bytes received since the last navigation start
- `requestCount`: number of requests sent since the last navigation start
To collect these metrics, you need the following corresponding extra providers:
- metrics that are dependent on the performance of the execution environment must be executed on a normalized machine
- e.g. a real mobile device whose cpu frequency is set to a fixed value.

* this requires root access, e.g. via a userdebug build of Android on a Google Nexus device

- e.g. a calibrated machine that does not run background jobs, has a fixed cpu frequency, ...
* Use relative comparisons
- relative comparisons are less likely to change over time and help to interpret the results of benchmarks
- e.g. compare an example written using a ui framework against a hand coded example and track the ratio
* Assert post-commit for commit ranges
- running benchmarks can take some time. Running them before every commit is usually too slow.
- when a regression is detected for a commit range, use bisection to find the problematic commit
* Repeat benchmarks multiple times in a fresh window
- run the same benchmark multiple times in a fresh window and then take the minimal average value of each benchmark run
* Use force gc with care
- forcing gc can skew the script execution time and gcTime numbers,
but might be needed to get stable gc time / gc amount numbers
* Open a new window for every test
- browsers (e.g. chrome) might keep JIT statistics over page reloads and optimize pages differently depending on what has been loaded before
# Detailed overview
Definitions:
* valid sample: a sample that represents the world that should be measured in a good way.
* complete sample: sample of all measure values collected so far
Components:
* Runner
- contains a default configuration
- creates a new injector for every sample call, via which all other components are created
* Sampler
- gets data from the metrics
- reports measure values immediately to the reporters
- loops until the validator is able to extract a valid sample out of the complete sample (see below).
- reports the valid sample and the complete sample to the reporters
* Metric
- gets measure values from the browser
- e.g. reads out performance logs, DOM values, JavaScript values
* Validator
- extracts a valid sample out of the complete sample of all measure values.
- e.g. wait until there are 10 samples and take them as valid sample (would include warmup time)
- e.g. wait until the regression slope for the metric `scriptTime` through the last 10 measure values is >=0, i.e. the values for the `scriptTime` metric are no more decreasing
* Reporter
- reports measure values, the valid sample and the complete sample to backends
- e.g. a reporter that prints to the console, a reporter that reports values into Google BigQuery, ...
* WebDriverAdapter
- abstraction over the used web driver client
- one implementation for every webdriver client
E.g. one for selenium-webdriver Node.js module, dart async webdriver, dart sync webdriver, ...
* WebDriverExtension
- implements additional methods that are standardized in the webdriver protocol using the WebDriverAdapter
